Yukon/Alaska Ontario Manitoba & Saskatchewan Alberta British Columbia The prairies are incredible. Some say the ride through them is flat and boring. Flat they are - for the most part. Boring they aren't. We found them beautiful. No other roads give you such a feeling of freedom. The sky is bigger than life. The cloud formations are like no other place. I think the key is to take the secondary roads. Hwy 15 towards Winnipeg, Manitoba

Even on secondary roads like Hwy 6, much of Manitoba is flat, straight and flanked with Canola fields Land of Living Skies, is the provincial tagline in Saskatchewan The 'living skies' later opened up near Saskatoon. We arrived during a tornado warning. This photo is the prelude to the storm. The wind storm lasted 20 minutes. The sun came out for us to wander around downtown Saskatoon. Some Prairie wisdom? Downtown Saskatoon. We had a great time here. This city has a real beat! Southern Saskatchewan looks quite different.
